Shota Arveladze has played league football in 4 different countries, but one thing he has always managed to do is score goals, lots of goals. He first came to prominence with Dinamo Tbilisi in 1992/93 scoring 18 goals in 23 matches, from there he moved on to Trabzonspor in Turkey, maintaining his phenomenal scoring rate, netting a staggering 61 goals in only 96 games and finishing as the top scorer in the league in 1996. The Dutch giants Ajax took him to Holland in 1997 and in his first term there he found the net 25 times in 31 league appearances. He enjoyed a further 3 seasons with the Amsterdam club before moving on to Glasgow Rangers. He made his debut in October 2001 against Kilmarnock which almost ineviatbly was a scoring one and scored 10 more times that season and continued to score freely during his time in Scotland, the 2002/3 season being his most successful with 15 goals from 30 games. By 2005/6 he was back in Holland, this time with Louis Van Gaal's free scoring AZ Alkmaar side, the Georgian plundered an incredible 22 goals from 31 games and continued in the same vein in 2006/7 with 10 goals in 17 games to show that age has not affected his goalscoring talents. Arveladze has been equally prolific with Georgia. He made his debut for the national team in 1992 against Azerbaijan, actually that was only Georgia's fourth ever international match. He scored naturally, in a 6-3 romp in Tbilisi and the goals have come at a regular rate for the Georgian hitman since then and he now has 23 which easily makes him the highest goalscorer in Georgian history. Arveladze is now 33 and is obviously coming to the end of a glittering career, but he still has enough ability to terrorise even the hardiest of defenders. Global Goal History:
